Job summary

AutoNation is seeking a Master Technician to perform vehicle repair and maintenance per dealer and factory standards, building customer trust in AutoNation’s care for safety and reliability.

This role emphasizes diagnostic work, collaboration with the Parts Department, and ongoing training to stay current with factory guidelines, with opportunities to advance into service, sales, management, and regional roles across AutoNation's nationwide network.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician.
• Automotive technical training is required and varies by store.
• Attention to detail is essential for accurate repairs.
• Strong organization and follow-up skills are needed.
• Valid in-state driver’s license with a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and/or maintenance as outlined on the repair order, meeting dealer and factory standards to drive customer loyalty.
• Communicate with Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs when authorized by the customer.
• Conduct multi-point inspections and recommend safety and reliability improvements.
• Document all work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Maintain inventory of tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as special tools.
• Stay current with factory Bulletins and participate in training classes as appropriate.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.
