GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Master Stylist engages with guests, consulting on their hair care needs and recommending products and services. They deliver quality professional services focused on the guest’s total look and support the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager by emphasizing performance, guest service, and adherence to operating procedures and standards. A passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and strong product knowledge are essential.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Master Stylist demonstrates Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values through:

Performance

• Performing hair services such as design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, and makeup applications.
• Achieving or surpassing a weekly sales goal of $1250 through outstanding guest service.
• Conducting product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
• Supporting in-store events and marketing initiatives.
• Staying informed on industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
• Maintaining punctuality and regular attendance.

People

• Building guest relationships through consultations and recommendations.
• Serving all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Collaborating with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Fostering professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
• Promoting the guest loyalty program and app.
• Attending mandatory training and meetings for professional development.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Cosmetology license

Experience: Relevant previous work experience required

• Proficiency in salon techniques and product knowledge.
• Ability to demonstrate and sell beauty products.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Ability to build and maintain client relationships.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

WORKING CONDITIONS
