University Health seeks a licensed Master’s of Social Work professional to counsel patients and their families within a multidisciplinary team. You will address social factors influencing care, advocate for timely services, and help coordinate support across departments in a hospital setting.
The role requires a CSWE-accredited MSW and Texas licensure, with a preference for at least one year post-master’s experience in a healthcare environment.
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Counsels and assists patients and their families with personal and environmental difficulties which predispose illnesses or which creates obstacles in receiving maximum quality of care. Acts as a therapeutic agent by participating within a multi-disciplinary health and mental health teams. Facilitates the delivery of services and support is provided efficiently and in a timely manner. Maintains good working, patient/provider/staff relationships. Complies with and enforces University Health policies and procedures.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Master's degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education is required. One year's post master's degree experience in a health care setting is preferred.
LICENSURE
Current state licensure from the Texas Department of Human Services is required.
