POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under the supervision of a licensed qualified supervisor, the Master Social Worker is responsible for the provision of recovery support and goal planning with a caseload of psychiatrically diagnosed individuals. This position requires great organizational and time management skills. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Evaluates and provides person-centered interventions for adults diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illnesses.
• Conducts assessments with complete formulation, treatment, and safety planning.
• Provides individual support and group services rooted in evidenced-based practice.
• Works as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team and practices client-centered and holistic care.
• Communicates effectively with clients, collateral contacts, outside agencies, referring agencies, and/or outside providers as needed for continuity of care.
• Maintains appropriate and timely documentation of all individual and group services as well as related individual contacts in accordance with OMH regulations and organizational expectations.
• Performs compliance and administrative duties as instructed.
• Assists in the development of Evidenced Based Practices Group Curriculums in collaboration with the PROS team.
• Attends professional meetings, educational conferences, and workshops, in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
• Conducts seminars and training for other staff on various areas such as mental health, person-centered work, etc.
• Facilitates interdisciplinary treatment teams and case conferences to determine client care and treatment planning.
• Provides crisis intervention on an as-needed basis.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work or an equivalent related field required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in a Mental or Behavioral Health environment required.
• Must obtain an unrestricted license as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) within six months from the date of hire.
• Must obtain Mandated Reporter training (2 hours) prior to hire date. Website info: https://nysmandatedreporter.org/TrainingCourses.aspx
