Job summary

Whaley Foodservice, LLC is seeking an experienced service technician to maintain and repair commercial kitchen and HVAC equipment. The role requires two or more skill sets, strong productivity, and leadership to mentor others.

Team members may rotate on-call weekends and overtime as needed. The ideal candidate holds CFESA Master Technician credentials (three of four certs), has at least one year of applicable experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Must have CFESA Master Technician credentials with three of four CFESA certifications.
• 1 year of applicable experience in commercial kitchen equipment repair.
• Valid driver\'s license with driving record that meets safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair gas, electric, water, refrigeration and steam powered equipment.
• Document tasks via tablet including parts orders and work orders.
• Maintain service vehicle, tools and uniforms; work on-call weekends/holidays.
• Communicate repair status professionally with customers.

Whaley Foodservice, LLC is one of the largest commercial kitchen equipment repair service companies in the Southeast comprised of over 600 employees located across 31 geographically dispersed locations.

Pay Rate: $36.00-45.00/hour*

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for maintenance and repair of customer equipment as assigned. This position is trained in at least two skill sets, maintains a high level of productivity, must have three of the four CFESA certifications and is assigned to the on-call roster. This position demonstrates leadership capabilities with the ability to mentor and train other employees.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Adhere to all SAFETY policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment.
2. Troubleshoot and repair gas, electric, water, refrigeration and steam powered commercial kitchen and HVAC equipment.
3. Utilize tablet to document task (parts order, work order, timesheet) on a timely basis.
4. Communicate professionally with customer regarding required repairs and status.
5. Use proper tools for repair, including hand tools and power tools.
6. Monitor truck stock to insure required parts are stocked on vehicle.
7. Maintain service vehicle, tools and uniforms.
8. Work independently with daily supervision.
9. Participate as scheduled for weekend/holiday on-call rotation and work regular overtime as needed.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Obtain correct part numbers through branch parts person.
2. Collect payment on COD jobs.
3. Contribute positively to branch targets for response time and first time fix rates.
4. Participates in available training to increase skill and knowledge.
5. Performs other duties as required.

CONTACTS:

• Internal Daily with branch staff; occasionally with corporate staff.
• External Frequent and regular contact with customers. Occasional contact with factories for warranty purposes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Completion of a satisfactory background check and drug screen is required.
• Valid Driver's license and driving record that aligns with our safety standards.
• 1 Year of applicable experience.
• CFESA Master Technician with three of the four CFESA certifications.
