Job summary

Apex Tool Group in Lexington, VA is seeking a Production Planner/Scheduler to lead planning, scheduling, and expediting of materials and products to meet the Master Production Schedule. You will analyze MRP and CRP to determine production requirements and coordinate with vendors for timely delivery.

Responsibilities include planning production, releasing POs, maintaining records, and ensuring material availability to support customer orders.

Qualifications

3+ years in a production control, master scheduling or production planning environment.
Experience on a production floor is required.
Proficiency with SAP for planning in a production order environment.
APICS certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan and schedule the production of assigned products and value streams.
Determine processing schedules and release dates based on workload, material availability, lead time, and manpower.
Coordinate with outside vendors to understand lead times and ensure on-time delivery.
Release POs for outside vendor processing.
Maintain records and reports to prepare shop orders and material releases.
Ensure material availability to meet customer and interplant orders and prioritize backorders.
Monitor production status and adjust scheduling for material planning needs.
Collaborate with Operations and QA to align production with quality specs.
Aim for on-time delivery to meet customer needs.
Update production metrics and present Past Due/OTD/Sales figures weekly.
