Job summary

CMC Partners in Chattanooga seeks a Master Scheduler to own planning and scheduling across highway, bridge, DOT, power, dam, and underground utility projects. The role collaborates with PM, preconstruction, and senior leadership to drive schedules and recovery actions.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in construction scheduling, a relevant degree, and strong CPM and Primavera P6 proficiency, with willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Scheduler experience on construction projects.
• Experience on complex heavy civil/public infrastructure work.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update cost and resource loaded schedules in Primavera P6 for all projects under contract.
• Build and maintain baseline schedules and oversee progress updates and recovery plans.
• Review design, procurement, and construction inputs to establish realistic timelines and logic sequences.
• Meet weekly with project managers and production teams to develop two week look ahead schedules and review progress, upcoming deadlines, and planned work.
• Work with Preconstruction to prepare schedules for major bids ahead of submission deadlines.
• Conduct critical path and near critical path analysis to identify potential delays and recommend recovery actions.
• Track progress, analyze variances, and forecast schedule impacts.
• Produce and distribute progress reports, look ahead schedules, and executive summaries.
• Support time impact analyses for delays and change orders.
• Review subcontractor schedules for logic, sequence, and accuracy.
• Help standardize scheduling practices across multiple projects.
• Communicate anticipated missed milestones or critical path impacts to the Project Management Team and Director of Construction.
• Coordinate with project executives, clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to keep schedule expectations aligned.
• Help resolve problems and conflicts within the project team and with customers.

I am representing a well established heavy civil contractor group in the search for an experienced Master Scheduler to join its Chattanooga office. Reporting to the VP of Preconstruction, the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10+ years of construction scheduling experience, with the majority on complex heavy civil and public infrastructure projects, and strong Primavera P6 expertise. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of CPM scheduling, logic ties, sequencing, and cost and resource loading.
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Good working knowledge of both building and civil construction planning.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving abilities.
• Sound judgment and decision making skills across multiple departments.
• Willingness to travel occasionally as needed.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with federal or state government contracts such as USACE, NAVFAC, or DOT.
• PMI SP, PMP, or AACE certification is a plus but not required.
