Job summary

Apalachee Center, Inc. in Tallahassee is seeking a Master’s level CRF Counselor to manage involuntary and voluntary admissions, coordinate with law enforcement and community providers, and coordinate transfers to designated facilities.

The role requires thorough clinical assessments, brief counseling, and crisis intervention with a rotating night shift (7:30pm-8:00am). Competitive full-time benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling or related human services field.
• At least 1 year of related mental health experience; inpatient experience preferred.
• CPR, CPI and First Aid certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Complete thorough clinical assessments for CRF entrants, including psychiatric and substance use history, medical issues, lethality, and overall mental status; formulate clinical impression and treatment recommendations.
• Provide brief, solution-focused counseling and crisis intervention to clients.
• Coordinate referrals and transfers to receiving facilities per Agency procedures; notify families and outside agencies as needed.
• Develop crisis management plans for clients not meeting inpatient criteria; refer to community resources.
• Ensure excellent customer service and promptly address questions and concerns.
