Job summary

HII Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking a production scheduling professional for planning and coordinating manufacturing flow. You will ensure timely materials, advise on progress, and align with QA, engineering, and purchasing to optimize production throughput.

The role requires a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, with various related pathways recognized, and a focus on scheduling techniques to improve shipbuilding processes and delivery timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of relevant exempt experience.
• Equivalent qualifications as listed may meet minimum requirements.
• Exposure to network scheduling techniques is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, issue and control production schedules to meet requirements.
• Advise management of work in progress, material availability and problems.
• Prepare work orders or purchase requests from the master schedule.
• Coordinate interdepartmental activity with QA, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control.
• Schedule and expedite movement of parts via move orders, stock transfers and shipping requests.

Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate

Associate's Degree + 2 years experience or 4 years non-exempt

Military Paygrade E-5 or above experience

High School/GED + 8 years manufacturing/shipbuilding experience
