Job summary

The Carlstar Group is seeking a Master Planner to develop the Master Production Schedule, align with Materials Flow, and serve as the primary site contact for supply related issues. You will own capacity analysis and drive a constrained supply plan to meet production and aftermarket needs.

This role collaborates with procurement, production, quality, engineering, and program management, applying Lean and Six Sigma tools to continuously improve planning processes and material availability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of Supply Chain Experience.
  • APICS certification preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Developing daily production schedules.
  • Establish centralized demand estimating and production planning.
  • Managing inventory to maintain appropriate levels.
  • Coordinating availability of raw materials.
  • Lead continuous improvement processes with Lean/Six Sigma.
  • Communicate with Finance, Sales, Manufacturing and Supply Chain stakeholders.

Job description

Job Purpose StatementThe Master Planner is responsible for planning the Master Production Schedule provided by the Materials Flow Manager. The Master Planner will be the primary contact for the manufacturing site to resolve supply related issues. He/she owns the site capacity analysis used for creating a constrained supply plan.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Partner with procurement, production manager, quality, engineering, and program management, and other supply chain disciplines to proactively plan, schedule, and effectively manage development, production, and aftermarket support environmentsDeveloping daily production schedulesEstablish procedure for centralized demand estimating plus production planning throughout company for all productsManaging inventory to maintain appropriate levelsCoordinating the availability of raw materials for the production processEffectively applies Lean and Green Belt tools in daily rapid problem solving activitiesEnsure to effectively and promptly communicate with main stakeholders from Finance, Sales, Manufacturing, Program Management and Supply Chain pertinent to requirements and impacts.Expert in executing complex scheduling tasks while leading continuous improvement processes.Leader in driving process excellence and continuous improvement efforts.Proficient to negotiate and communicate cross-functionally across the organization, coordinating with purchasing, inspection, engineering, manufacturing, sales, contract's, shipping & receiving to exceed objectivesAnticipates and Resolves all disruptionsAnticipates problems, recognizes and eliminates barriers.Demonstrates an active commitment to continuous improvement, encouraging recommendations and changes in procedures to streamline processes and increase efficiencies.Completes work with no supervision and able to provide training and coaching to others as neededFollows established procedures and best practicesRecognized expert to train new hires as neededExcellent verbal/written communication skills; possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; anticipates potential issues and resolves themExpert in interacting with team members and peers to anticipate and resolve day-to-day issues and resolving competing project prioritiesHighly Efficient in working with related project team members (Global Planning, Other sites, Purchasing, etc.) and colleagues to develop and implement continuous improvement solutionsRequired Education and Experience:Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering or a related field, requiredMinimum 3 years of Supply Chain Experience, requiredAPICS certification, preferredLean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, requiredPersonal Trait Profile:Good written and verbal communication skillsMust be highly organized and detailed orientedDetailed understanding of supply chain principles.Thorough understanding of the following: various production planning and inventory techniques and practices, Capacity Planning, various forecasting techniques and their application.Excellent communication, facilitation and networking skills.Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent partnering and team building skills.Self-confident and self-starter.Ability to remain focused on core processes despite outside influenceEffective communicator
