Job summary

American Greetings is seeking a Scheduler/Planning Coordinator to coordinate capacity and demand planning for a manufacturing facility. You will analyze forecasts to develop a capacity plan, master schedule, and production plan, communicating with multiple supply chain units to ensure execution of an agreed plan.

The role requires five years of supply chain experience, advanced knowledge of planning, inventory control, and ERP systems.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of progressively more complex supply chain experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or similar field.
  • APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Gathers forecast, capacity, and constraints data to develop production plans and master schedules.
  • Leads Sales Inventory and Operations planning and coordinates with sales, marketing, and product management.
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners to prepare and communicate the master schedule.
  • Ensures material inventory plans support the master schedule and communicates demand plans with sourcing for all materials.
  • Leads planning group to achieve customer delivery/promise dates by setting shop priorities.
  • Builds partnerships across functional levels to manage demand planning within the facility.

Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY

The Scheduler/Planning Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of capacity and demand planning for a manufacturing facility. Analyzes forecasts from business units to determine a capacity plan, master schedule and production plan. Manages planning & scheduling of all production requirements to meet customer expectations in an economical means. Communicates directly with business units & various supply chain units, including sales, product management, sourcing, operations, shipping/receiving, to ensure execution of an agreed master schedule/production plan.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Gathers forecast, capacity, and constraints data, analyzes information to develop valid production plan and an achievable master schedule.
  • Leads the facility Sales Inventory and Operations Process, reporting performance to forecast & production. Works with sales, marketing & product management to address demand planning issues and coordinate efforts across supply chain and operations functions.
  • Responsible for collaborating with internal and external business unit partners, i.e. facility leadership, sales, product management, operations & sourcing, to prepare and effectively communicate the facility master schedule.
  • Responsible for ensuring material inventory plans support the master schedule by communicating demand plans and working to establish buy plans with sourcing for all levels of materials.
  • Leads the planning group to achieve customer delivery/promise dates by setting and managing shop priorities.
  • Builds strong partnerships at all functional and organizational levels. Operates under limited direction with input and participative direction from other staff managers to manage demand planning within the facility.
Experience Required
  • Minimum of five years of progressively more complex supply chain experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of material control, supply chain planning, supply chain performance, inventory control, operations, demand management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, organization, negotiation, conflict resolution and communication skills
  • Advanced analytical skills and excellent interpersonal skills are required to analyze complex business issues and communicate plans to others inside and outside the facility.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is very important.
  • Ability to work independently to manage multiple projects and initiatives to meet established timelines.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated to identify problems and take initiative to make corrective actions.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP preferred
  • Ability to use and troubleshoot MRP systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of 6 Sigma project management principles
Education Required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or similar field
  • APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification preferred
