Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Master Network & Security Engineer to design, operate, troubleshoot, and improve enterprise network-security infrastructure. You will manage Palo Alto NGFWs, Panorama, HA, Cisco switching, and cloud integrations.

This fully remote US role partners with SOC and various teams to reduce risk and ensure uptime. Responsibilities include leading firewall architecture, policy design, HA testing, and incident root-cause analysis, while mentoring junior engineers and maintaining

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in cybersecurity/IT.
• 10+ years in network engineering or security.
• 6+ years hands-on Palo Alto firewall experience in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, deployment, and lifecycle management of Palo Alto NGFW environments.
• Manage Palo Alto Panorama governance, templates, and upgrades.
• Design and enforce zero-trust, least-privilege security policies.
• Configure and troubleshoot NAT, VPNs, decryption, web filtering, and threat prevention.
• Lead enterprise network segmentation and microsegmentation initiatives.
• Develop secure controls between users, servers, and cloud resources.
• Architect and test High Availability deployments (Active/Passive/Active).
• Mentor junior engineers and lead incident reviews.

Education

Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

10+ years of network engineering/security experience

6+ years Palo Alto firewall experience
