Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Mold Maker A (1st Shift) to perform mold maintenance and repair across injection molds, jigs, and fixtures. The role includes building tooling components from standard prints using mills, lathes, grinders, EDMs, and CNC machinery.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED with 3–5 years in mold repair and prefer Tool & Die Maker certification. Lean/six sigma knowledge and strong schematic reading are valued, with non-standard hours as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3–5 years in injection mold repair.
• Tool & Die Maker certification preferred.
• Strong ability to read schematics and operate tooling equipment.
• Experience with CNC equipment, programming, and DNC.
• Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma experience.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work non-standard hours.
• Capable of managing stress and collaborating with others.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and services tools and components; inspects wear or damage.
• Disassembles, assembles, and troubleshoots hot manifold systems; checks seals and temperatures.
• Creates tooling components with mills, lathes, grinders, EDMs, and CNCs.
• Assists with installation of machining and tool making equipment.
• Disassembles/assembles molds; ensures proper water seal and flow.
• Identifies cleaning techniques and safe mold handling.
• Operates tooling area safely and participates in priority meetings.
