An established industry player is seeking a skilled automotive technician to join their fleet maintenance team. This role involves diagnosing and repairing city vehicles while ensuring high-quality service and safety standards. Summary
Responsible for repairing and maintaining the operation of all City vehicles.
Salary: $23.00- $35.00/depending on qualifications and experience
Flexible work schedules, work boots and uniforms provided. Candidate may select their desired work schedule based on what works best for them.
4-day work week, Monday - Friday, 2 a.m. to Noon
5-day work week, Monday - Friday, 6 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
5-day work week, Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance on city vehicles.
Diagnose and repair city vehicles and equipment.
Order necessary parts as needed.
Maintain a clean and orderly Fleet Shop.
Respond to road calls.
Diagnose and repair vehicle hydraulic or electrical systems.
Ensure work quality on all vehicle repair and/or maintenance services.
Minimum Qualifications
6 months to 1 year advanced study past the high school level
3 years related experience
1 ASE Certification
Must own basic hand and air tools
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Preferred Qualifications
Education/ Experience:
Advanced training in automotive and diesel mechanics
3-5 years experience in auto and diesel repair and diagnosis
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
General knowledge of automotive repair and diagnostics
General knowledge of Fleet software processes
Skill in utilizing Shop Key software
Skill in performing preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment
Skill in prioritizing and meeting deadlines
Skill in hydraulic system repair
Skill in diagnosing vehicle repairs
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Skill in electric diagnostics
Licenses and Certifications
Must obtain 2 ASE Certifications within 1 year of hire
Valid Class A Texas Driver's License or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
The incumbent works in a fleet shop environment; occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Occasional outside work.
