The DNREC Shoreline and Waterway Management Section works to maintain and improve Delaware’s beaches, shorelines and waterways.
Shoreline and Waterway Management Section manages 120 miles of navigable waterway and 62 miles of publicly accessible shoreline within the State of Delaware. The Master mechanic position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a diverse fleet of construction, marine, and all‑terrain equipment, including complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and fuel systems. Performs advanced troubleshooting, engine overhauls, and preventative maintenance while evaluating equipment performance and service life to ensure operational readiness. Utilizes technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools to analyze malfunctions, coordinate repairs, and support efficient field operations in demanding environments.
