Job summary

The County of Volusia is seeking Automotive Technicians for the Automotive and Light Truck shop in Daytona Beach, Florida. This role involves basic maintenance and repair of automobiles, trucks, and heavy equipment. A skills test is required for the position.

Levels I–III offer progression with pay ranges, incentive pay up to $8/hour for ASE/CDL qualifications, tool reimbursement, and boots allowance. Regular duties and on-call responses are included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL Class B permit within 90 days; Class B CDL within nine months of employment.
• At least 6 months of mechanical maintenance or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist Level II and III technicians in completing equipment maintenance and repair tasks.
• Perform routine repairs and minor preventive maintenance on trucks and heavy equipment.
• Prepare vehicles for service and auction.
• Operate the automated maintenance management system for parts ordering and labor coding.
• Respond to emergency situations as required.
