Job description

The Town of Sharon seeks a full-time (40 hours/week) Master Mechanic to join the team in the Department of Public Works.

Duties include:

1. Maintenance and repair work on town equipment and vehicles.
2. Maintain records of repair orders.
3. Perform auto body work and related welding and metal work.
4. Order replacement parts and deal with parts vendors.
5. Obtain cost estimates and schedule outside repairs when necessary.
6. Answer road calls.
7. Perform and supervise a variety of preventive maintenance work such as lubrication and replacing oil filters.
8. Diagnose and repair motor vehicles and diesel equipment.
9. Operate light, heavy, and specialized motor equipment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• High School Diploma
• Massachusetts Class A Commercial Driver’s License
• Massachusetts Class 2A Hoisting Engineer’s License

Starting Salary: $60,360, with generous benefits, including health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, flexible spending accounts and retirement plans.
