Qualifications

Job description

Description

The Maintenance Technician will report to the Maintenance Manager and assist with maintenance and reliability improvement efforts for the plant. This role involves performing preventative maintenance to ensure machines operate safely and efficiently, responding to machine/system failures, and troubleshooting as needed.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on machinery and equipment according to schedule.
  2. Repair or replace defective parts.
  3. Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  4. Operate metalworking tools such as welders, mills, drill presses, and grinders to make and repair parts.
  5. Set up new equipment lines and manage equipment changeovers.
  6. Maintain inventory of parts for timely repairs.
  7. Keep tools, shop, and work areas organized and clean.
  8. Suggest measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, efficiency, and product quality.
  9. Test, repair, and operate equipment safely, understanding lockout/tagout procedures.
  10. Perform building maintenance, including repairs on doors, docks, lighting, etc.
  11. Use basic woodworking skills for repairs and building interior structures.
  12. Read and interpret safety rules, operation, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Qualifications
  • Prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of PLCs and programming (mainly Allen Bradley).
  • Extensive machine repair skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work overtime and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, bend, or kneel for extended periods.
  • Welding and fabricating experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems desired.
  • Must pass background check, drug screen, and pre-employment physical.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
