Job summary

Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge is seeking a Maintenance Repairer Master to support Housing operations within Residential Life Warehouse. The role is a multi-trade position performing carpentry, electrical, HVAC, roofing, painting, and related maintenance tasks.

You will join a team of skilled trades staff, follow safety protocols, operate standard tools, and complete building surveys and preventative maintenance tasks. A valid driver's license and background check are required.

Qualifications

• Three years of on‑the‑job experience in the building construction trades or related maintenance fields.
• Two-year vocational/technical program in construction plus one year of related experience.
• Twelve college hours in construction tech/engineering plus one year of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry work: shelves, cabinets, doors, trim, frames and finishing.
• Perform electrical work up to 220V: install/repair fixtures, switches, outlets, fuses, breakers.
• Paint buildings and furniture with brush or spray.
• Sheet metal/roofing repairs including ducts and ventilation components.
• Repair plumbing fixtures and unclog drains.
• Conduct building surveys to determine maintenance needs and report findings.
• Assist with HVAC troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
