Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) in Hammond, LA seeks a Maintenance Repair Master to oversee maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation of DOTD-owned buildings and welcome centers in District 62. The role leads a team, coordinates material purchases, and participates in DOTD training programs.

The position requires experience in building trades, with emphasis on carpentry and plumbing, and may be filled as probational or through detail.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance.
• Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering plus one year of related experience.
• Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering with one year of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and rehabilitation work includes constructing additions, renovating facilities, repairing and replacing roofs, and installing paneling and fixtures.
• Installs and repairs door locks and window air-conditioning units.
• Performs concrete work including forming, pouring, and finishing concrete slabs and catch basins at DOTD facilities.
• Completes framing for new construction and related structural repairs.
• Maintains, repairs, and installs plumbing systems and fixtures.
• Repairs water, sewer, and gas lines and installs heaters and ventilation systems.
