Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Above average mechanical aptitude and significant experience with commonly used hand tools and power tools.
• Strong work ethic and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to enroll in a 30-month apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Keep bag machines, printing presses, packaging and related equipment running at prescribed speed and quality levels.
• Supervise and mentor subordinate staff of machine operators and other employees in your area.
• Assist with machine setup, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Monitor inventories of replacement parts and supplies to ensure availability at all times.
• Start/stop and set up machines according to production schedule and adjust for issues.
• Relieve operators during breaks and cover for absenteeism.
• Maintain neat and safe work area and request replacement parts as needed.
• Follow SOPs and report compliance issues.
• Provide feedback to subordinates per Performance Management System.
• Take on additional duties as assigned.
