Job Summary: As an Advanced Diesel Mechanic at Rapid Diesel Repair, you’ll be a key driver of our company’s success. You’ll lead by example, inspiring and guiding your team to deliver exceptional service and results. At Rapid Diesel Repair, we value integrity, leadership, and a passion for excellence in everything we do.

Performance Objectives:
  1. Lead repair and maintenance projects, ensuring timely completion
  2. Provide technical support to other mechanics and collaborate with the Production Manager to optimize shop operations
  3. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and effectiveness in customer fleet maintenance and repair processes
  4. Lead continuous improvement projects within the shop, identifying areas for optimization and implementing innovative solutions to streamline processes and reduce waste.
Competencies:
  • Expert-level knowledge of diesel engine design and operation, including advanced diagnostics and performance complaints
  • Mastery of transmission systems, including automatic and manual transmission, and proficiency in troubleshooting complex issues
  • Specialized expertise in suspension system upgrades and repair for improved handling and stability
  • Advanced brake system diagnostics skills including ABS system
  • Extensive experience with air brake systems, diagnostics, inspections, and repairs
  • In-depth understanding of aftertreatment systems, including advanced troubleshooting and repair techniques
  • Proficiency in advanced electrical diagnostics, including CAN bus systems and multiplex wiring
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive 90-day BIT inspections and Annual DOT inspections, ensuring compliance and safety
  • Ability to proficiently use our software system, Fullbay
  • Must provide your well-rounded assortment of tools to perform most job functions
Experience Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a vocational training program in diesel mechanics or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the diesel truck maintenance and repair industry, with a track record of leadership and advanced technical skills
