Job summary

Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville, TN seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to apply guitar-building knowledge and wood manufacturing experience to improve safety, drive process and quality, reduce delivery time, and increase production capacity.

You will develop processes, fixturing, CNC programs, and automation to transfer prototype product designs into production, document specifications, and build prototypes for new products.

Qualifications

• Formal engineering studies preferred at associate or bachelor level.
• Graduate of Luthier program with guitar-building experience.
• CAD/CAM knowledge and 3D modeling experience.
• Read/write G-code and operate CNC equipment.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and project management abilities.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with 3-axis to 5-axis CNC and mastercam/Fusion preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop processes, fixtures, CNC programs, and automation to production.
• Identify and implement improvements in guitar manufacturing.
• Develop and document product specifications and build criteria for Historic and New product.
• Build prototypes and master parts for new products and product improvement.
• Troubleshoot and develop solutions for quality and production issues.
• Support maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC and other automated machinery.
• Develop documentation and provide operator training for CNC machinery.
• Perform other tasks within their area of expertise, as required.
