Job summary

Saks Fifth Avenue is seeking an Alteration Staff member to join the tailoring team, delivering customer service and expert alterations for luxury merchandise. The role focuses on precise fitting, exceptional service, and adherence to Saks policies during fittings and repairs.

You will maintain high standards, work with the department to enhance the customer experience, and support company initiatives while ensuring safety and quality across all alterations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years fitting and tailoring experience in high-end merchandise
• Able to fit and perform alterations on a wide range of garments
• Strong technical background in leather, knits, beading, and fine tailoring advantageous
• Able to use standard sewing, pressing and spotting equipment
• Experience with specialty machines (double-blind, buttonhole, cover-stitch, leather)

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

• Minimum 3 years fitting and tailoring experience in high-end merchandise
• Ability to fit and perform alterations on a wide range of garments
• Possession of strong technical background in specialty skills such as: leather,knits,double face,beading,fine tailoring,buttonholes etc is desired and a benefit.
• Ability to use all standard sewing, pressing & spotting equipment
• Ability to use specialty machines: Double-blind, Buttonhole, Cover-stitch, Leather
• Knowledge of Alterations industry including fabrication and styling of luxury merchandise.
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
