Saks Fifth Avenue, a flagship luxury retailer within Exemplar Luxury Group, seeks an Alteration Staff member to join the tailoring team. You will deliver customer service and tailoring expertise during fittings, ensuring precision and luxury standards across high-end garments.

The role emphasizes exceptional customer experience, adherence to policies, and collaboration with the storefront team. A minimum of three years’ experience in tailoring for luxury merchandise is preferred.

Job Description

YOU WILL BE: The Alteration Staff will be part of the tailoring team, providing customer service, and tailoring expertise as required.

• Maintain a consistent high level of customer service by creating and developing excellent customer relationships.


• Follow all Saks Fifth Avenue policies and procedures.


• Follow all alteration workroom policies and Tailor procedures.


• Ability to utilize expertise to make alterations decisions during customer fittings.


• Focus on all efforts on providing an exceptional customer experience.


• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.


• Support company/store and department initiatives.


• Ad hoc responsibilities as needed


• A towering strength at winning over an audience with their perspective


• You are a respected and proven thought leader with a quantifiable track record of success in delivering results within a large complex organization


• Generates a variety of approaches to problem solving including new and novel ideas

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• Minimum 3 years’ fitting and tailoring experience in high-end merchandise


• Ability to fit and perform alterations on a wide range of garments


• Possession of strong technical background in specialty skills such as leather, knits, double face, beading, fine tailoring, buttonholes etc. is desired and a benefit.


• Ability to use all standard sewing, pressing & spotting equipment


• Ability to use specialty machines: Double-blind, Buttonhole, Cover-stitch, Leather


• Knowledge of Alterations industry include fabrication and styling of luxury merchandise.


• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Salary Range

Salary Range $29.48 - $36.86* Compensation for this role varies by geographic location. The listed range reflects multiple markets, including higher-cost areas. Actual starting pay will be determined based on work location, experience, and other job-related factors.
