Job summary

The City of Amarillo is seeking a Master Electrician for the Utilities Department. Under supervision, you will perform electrical maintenance, repair, and installation for water and wastewater facilities and may lead other crew members when assigned.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting 480V/2300V systems, conduit work, and safety reporting. Must hold a Texas Master Electrician license, a valid Texas driver’s license, and be prepared for extended hours and emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with Texas Master Electrician license.
• Experience in electrical trades or industrial maintenance.
• Knowledge of National Electrical Code and safety policies.
• Ability to work extended hours and respond to callbacks.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repair of electrical systems in water facilities.
• Install, repair, and troubleshoot switchgear and motor control systems.
• Maintain daily work schedule and coordinate with supervision.
• Manage workload and assist Chief Electrician as needed.
• Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and supplies for wiring projects.
• Prepare progress reports and ensure safe work practices.
