Job summary

The State of Minnesota is seeking an Electrician Master Record in Owatonna to install, maintain and repair electrical systems across district facilities. The role includes leading other maintenance workers and coordinating with contractors, while ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.

Hours are Monday–Thursday, 6:00 am–4:30 pm, with a competitive pay scale and eligibility for state benefits. A Master license and a valid Minnesota D license are required.

Qualifications

• Class A Master electrical License issued by Minnesota State Board of Electricity.
• Valid Minnesota Class D Driver’s License.
• Experience with construction plans, blueprints and electrical specification sufficient to interpret, modify and follow them to complete electrical projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled installation, maintenance, inspection/testing, and repair of electrical wiring and equipment per codes and specs.
• Install, maintain, repair and operate HVAC systems throughout the district to ensure safety and energy efficiency.
• Perform or assist in other building trades to maintain and remodel facilities.
• Prepare cost estimates for time, labor and material for electrical and other building related projects. Prepare and review plans, blueprints, specs for building related projects.
• Maintain knowledge of building-related programs and record keeping including work orders, building automation, security systems, cardkey access and fuel systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
