Job summary

UVA Health Northern VA Culpeper and affiliated facilities are seeking a Master Electrician to maintain non-clinical electrical systems across the hospital plant. You will work independently with strong time management and coordinate with vendors to ensure safety and reliability.

The role includes operating and maintaining electrical equipment, testing emergency generators, and ensuring compliance with life-safety codes. On-call after hours and travel between campus buildings may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; 2 Year/Associate's Degree in a technical science/trade or equivalent work experience preferred.
• 3 years apprenticeship in the electrical trade required.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial electrical distribution system installation and maintenance required.

Responsibilities

• Operates, maintains, installs, and inspects non-clinical electrical systems and equipment within the hospital plant.
• Tests and maintains emergency power generators and documents testing.
• Coordinates repairs with assigned vendors and maintains electrical safety program documentation.
• Installs and maintains telephone and data cabling; reads and interprets drawings and blueprints.
