Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years providing electrical repair services, preferably within a federal facility.
• Must be licensed Master Electrician (DC).
• Ability to troubleshoot high, medium, and low voltage systems typically found in large commercial structures.
• Ability to read blueprints/layouts and locate trouble in electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Determine safest methods to accomplish assignments based on verbal/work orders.
• Perform electrical preventive maintenance.
• Test and repair electrical systems.
• Install or repair equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduits.
• Work from blueprints or layouts, diagnose issues, compute load requirements, use electrician tools and testing instruments.

Job Description

The Master Electrician performs high voltage electrical installation in addition to other electrical duties, maintenance and repair work at CMI’s customer site located in Washington, DC.

Key Job Functions

• Receives assignments verbally and by work order and will determine the safest best methods to accomplish assignments.
• Responsible for electrical preventive maintenance
• Testing and repair of the electrical systems
• Installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment;
• Working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment, working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.

Qualifications

• Ability to effectively verbally communicate
• Minimum of 5 years of providing electrical repair services preferably within a federal facility
• Must be a licensed Master Electrician (DC)
• Must possess troubleshooting skills for high, medium, and low voltage electrical systems typically found in large commercial structures
• Sound ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical distribution systems, motors, controls, and miscellaneous electrical systems
