Job summary

Silgan Closures in Evansville, IN is seeking a Master Electrician to ensure reliable operation of manufacturing equipment, utilities, automation systems, and plant infrastructure. You'll work with PLCs, VFDs, SCADA, motor controls, and power distribution, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.

The role requires a completed electrical trade program or equivalent, 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, OSHA 30 and NFPA 70E training, and strong skills in

Qualifications

• Completed electrical trade program or equivalent with degree, diploma, or certification.
• Minimum 3–5 years manufacturing electrical maintenance experience strongly preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification and NFPA 70E arc-flash safety training.
• Proficiency in PLC, VFD, SCADA, HMI, motor controls, motor sizing, wire sizing, circuit design, and conduit installation.
• Ability to plan, lay out, inspect, and troubleshoot industrial power distribution, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, and motor logic.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems, manufacturing equipment, and facility infrastructure.
• Support power distribution equipment, including transformers, switchgear, MCCs, electrical panels, and associated systems.
• Program, troubleshoot, and modify PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, SCADA systems, instrumentation, and automated control systems.
• Diagnose electrical and automation issues using schematics, technical documentation, and advanced diagnostic equipment to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
• Support capital projects, equipment installations, upgrades, commissioning activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate electrical drawings, technical documentation, maintenance records, and control system backups.
• Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance team members and collaborate with operations, engineering, and production teams to achieve business objectives.
• Perform all work in compliance with OSHA requirements, NFPA 70E, electrical codes, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and company safety policies.

What You’ll Do
