Job summary

Silgan Closures in Evansville, IN is hiring a Master Electrician to support reliable operation of manufacturing equipment and plant infrastructure. You will work with PLCs, VFDs, SCADA, and motor controls to maintain power distribution and automation systems.

Role requires an electrical trade program and 3–5 years of manufacturing electrical maintenance experience, OSHA 30/NFPA 70E training, and strong diagnostic skills with schematics. Excellent safety focus and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Completed electrical trade program, apprenticeship, technical college, or equivalent.
• 3–5 years manufacturing electrical maintenance experience preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification and NFPA 70E training.
• Proficiency in PLC, VFD, SCADA, HMI, motor controls, motor sizing, wire sizing, conduit install.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems and equipment.
• Support power distribution equipment including transformers, switchgear, MCCs, and electrical panels.
• Program, troubleshoot, and modify PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, SCADA systems.
• Diagnose electrical/automation issues using schematics and diagnostic equipment.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to ensure safe plant operations.
• Support capital projects, installations, upgrades, commissioning, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain electrical drawings, documentation, and control backups.
• Collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering, and production teams to meet objectives.

What You’ll Do

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems, manufacturing equipment, and facility infrastructure.
• Support and maintain power distribution equipment, including transformers, switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), electrical panels, and associated systems.
• Program, troubleshoot, and modify PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, SCADA systems, instrumentation, and automated control systems.
• Diagnose electrical and automation issues using schematics, technical documentation, and advanced diagnostic equipment to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
• Support capital projects, equipment installations, upgrades, commissioning activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate electrical drawings, technical documentation, maintenance records, and control system backups.
• Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance team members and collaborate with operations, engineering, and production teams to achieve business objectives.
• Perform all work in compliance with OSHA requirements, NFPA 70E standards, electrical codes, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and company safety policies.

What We Need

• Completed electrical trade program, apprenticeship, technical college, or equivalent with degree, diploma, or certification.
• Minimum 3-5 years manufacturing electrical maintenance experience strongly preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification and NFPA 70E arc-flash safety training.
• Proficiency in PLC, VFD, SCADA, HMI, motor controls, motor sizing, wire sizing, circuit design, and conduit installation.
• Ability to plan, layout, inspect, and troubleshoot industrial power distribution, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, and motor logic.
