Job summary

Edwards Vacuum, a global leader in advanced vacuum products, is seeking a Master Electrician for its Basom, NY Genesee facility. This direct-hire role supports production electrical infrastructure and upgrades to keep facilities safe and productive.

You will work with 480V/240V/110V systems, support PLCs and automation, perform preventive maintenance, read schematics, and follow NFPA 70/70E/70B and OSHA. A Master Electrician license and 6+ years in industry are required.

Qualifications

• Valid Master Electrician license required.
• At least 6 years of industrial electrical experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards and safe work practices.
• Experience with PLCs, VFDs, automation and control systems.
• Ability to read electrical blueprints and schematics.
• Proficient in electrical testing equipment and CMMS systems.
• Good documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade electrical systems supporting production operations.
• Work with 480V, 240V, and 110V electrical systems.
• Support PLCs, VFDs, industrial automation, motor controls, and instrumentation.
• Perform preventive and corrective electrical maintenance.
• Diagnose electrical faults using meters and instrumentation.
• Use Siemens WinPM and BMS to monitor equipment.
• Collaborate with engineering to troubleshoot factory automation and robotics.
• Ensure work complies with NFPA 70/70E/70B, OSHA and local codes.
• Respond to electrical emergencies and power-related issues.
• Evaluate systems and suggest energy-saving upgrades.
• Support ISO 50001 energy management initiatives.
• Maintain documentation of repairs, installations, inspections, and modifications.
• Mentor maintenance personnel and junior electricians.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional teams.

About the Opportunity

Acara Solutions is seeking an experienced Master Electrician to join Edwards Vacuum at its Genesee facility in Basom, NY. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in the electrical infrastructure supporting advanced manufacturing and dry pump production.

The Master Electrician will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of electrical systems throughout the facility, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, automation support, and system upgrades.

This position will work closely with facilities, maintenance, engineering, and production teams to minimize downtime and ensure a safe and productive manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Do

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade electrical systems supporting production operations.
• Work with 480V, 240V, and 110V electrical systems.
• Support PLCs, VFDs, industrial automation, motor controls, and specialized instrumentation.
• Perform preventive and corrective electrical maintenance.
• Diagnose electrical faults using testing equipment, meters, and instrumentation.
• Use Siemens WinPM and the Building Management System to monitor and troubleshoot equipment.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot factory automation, robotics, and motor-control systems.
• Ensure electrical work complies with NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NFPA 70B, OSHA requirements, and applicable local codes.
• Respond to electrical emergencies, equipment failures, and power-related issues.
• Evaluate electrical systems and recommend upgrades, energy-saving solutions, and efficiency improvements.
• Support energy management initiatives associated with ISO 50001.
• Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, installations, inspections, and modifications.
• Mentor and train maintenance personnel and junior electricians.
• Communicate technical findings and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional teams.

What We’re Looking For

• Valid Master Electrician license required.
• At least 6 years of industrial electrical experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safe work practices.
• Experience with PLCs, VFDs, industrial automation, and control systems.
• Ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience using electrical testing equipment and instrumentation.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with CMMS systems.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with maintenance, engineering, and production teams.
