Job summary

Waste Pro of Florida is seeking an experienced diesel truck technician to diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, electrical, hydraulic, and related systems on heavy- and light-duty trucks. Work in a safety-conscious shop, following DVIRs and repair orders to maximize operating uptime.

You will operate with a strong emphasis on fault diagnosis, proper documentation, and adherence to safety policies.

Qualifications

Knowledge of suspension inspection, diagnosis and repair.
Knowledge of brake system inspection, diagnosis and repair.
Knowledge of electrical system inspection, diagnosis and repair.
Knowledge of hydraulic system inspection, diagnosis and repair.
Proficient in using diagnostic tools and interpreting service manuals.
Ability to estimate time and materials for repairs.
Ability to supervise Assistant Technicians and Shop Helpers.
CDL Class B preferred within 12 months.

Responsibilities

Diagnoses mechanical problems and performs repairs and maintenance on heavy- and light-duty trucks.
Communicates with managers/drivers to discuss issues and preventive techniques.
Completes all required paperwork in a timely and concise manner.
Follows all safety policies and procedures.
Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA standards.
Uses vehicle computer electronics to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs.
Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
Repairs using Factory Service Manuals.
