Job summary
Certified Fleet Services in Tampa, FL seeks a Master Diesel Technician to lead diagnostic and repair work for a full-service fleet facility. You will evaluate complex diesel systems, supervise technicians, and ensure high-quality workmanship to minimize comebacks.
The role requires a strong background in diesel repair, 10+ years of experience, and CDL preferred. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and stable daytime schedule.
Qualifications
- GED or High School Diploma required.
- Completion of a formal diesel technician training program required.
- Dealership or Manufacturer Master Diesel Technician certification preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of diesel vehicle repair experience required.
- Current Valid Driver's License required, CDL preferred.
- Experience working with team members across multiple functional roles required.
Responsibilities
- Diagnosing and repairing vehicles accurately within a reasonable time frame and with a quality of work that exceeds customer expectations.
- Assumes personal responsibility for all aspects of work quality, timeliness, and results.
- Creating comprehensive work plans after thoroughly assessing problems.
- Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines, all vehicle systems, including after treatment systems, electronics, and drivetrain and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions.
- Thoroughly inspecting all vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering, and exhaust systems.
- Repairing or replacing all vehicle systems and components.
- Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance.
- Training members of the shop thoroughly in various vehicle maintenance and repair responsibilities.
- Assist in development of key practices and policies.

- Expert knowledge of diesel repair and maintenance

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read, interpret, and create documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, and written correspondence
- GED or High School Diploma required

- Minimum 10 years of diesel vehicle repair experience required
- Current Valid Driver's License required, CDL preferred
- Experience working with team members across multiple functional roles required
- Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing or walking
- Ability to work in enclosed environments exposed to excessive noise, automotive shop
- environment, and cold or heat
- Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
