Job summary

Hammes is seeking a Development Executive to lead master development efforts for high-value campuses nationwide. This role requires deep expertise in real estate strategy, land use, development economics, and executive-level communication with clients and boards.

Lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage budgets and schedules, negotiate complex contracts, and drive value across projects from $20M to $1B+. Based in Dallas, some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Urban Design required; advanced degrees preferred.
• 15+ years in real estate development with multi-phase, ground-up projects ($50–$500M).
• Proven ability to present to C-suite and boards.
• Experience leading multiple projects across phases; strong marketing and sales process.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized with strong time management, urgency, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with real estate pro-forma modeling and MS Office; familiarity with Procore/Primavera.

Responsibilities

• Lead master development for $1B+ campus and provide national consulting.
• Direct a cross-functional team including governance entities, feasibility, budget, schedule, and financial modeling.
• Coordinate with client Boards and state/local stakeholders; manage entitlement processes.
• Deliver a sustainable, multi-use campus aligning infrastructure and districts.
• Oversee design and construction phases, asset selection, and approvals.
• Develop and manage campus development budget and cash flow models.
• Negotiate complex contracts with Tier-1 developers and partners.
• Collaborate with marketing and business development in pursuing opportunities and RFPs.
• Ensure integration of energy systems and transit links.
