Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Master Data Manager to lead data governance and master data strategies across the enterprise, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

You will oversee data creation, maintenance, and SAP PLM/MDG processes, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to embed strong data practices in business operations. In this role you will guide a team, drive improvement initiatives, and foster a culture of data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent
• 2+ years of team management or project leadership
• Advanced user of Microsoft Excel with ability to analyze large data sets
• Working knowledge of SAP master data processes, data quality controls, and governance concepts
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Lead the team in master data creation and maintenance according to procedures and SLAs
• Enforce SOX-compliant governance and standardize data across systems
• Serve as SME for master data, driving data structures, lifecycle, and workflows
• Collaborate with business/IT on SAP PLM/MDG implementation and testing
• Document master data activities and maintain SOPs and forms
• Coach and develop a high-performing data management team
