US Tech Solutions is seeking a Master Control Operator for a 6-month contract in Centennial, CO, with a 9:00 PM–5:00 AM MST shift. You will support the on-air operations team during a major systems migration in 2026, managing playlists and commercial timing across 150+ channels.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and relevant certification or Associate's Degree in Media or Communications, or equivalent professional experience in broadcast, digital, or post production role.
  • A solid understanding of television production, broadcast operations, and/or news/sports/entertainment technical production requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support current on-air operations during major systems migration.
  • Maintain and manipulate on-air playlists and execute program/commercial/marketing changes.
  • Take ownership of commercial integration for flawless marketing breaks.
  • Monitor 150+ channel streams for uptime and identify inconsistencies.
  • Ensure readiness of every material for on-air playout.
  • Respond to on-air discrepancies with quick decision-making.
  • Simulate viewer experience to check audio, video, captions, and picture quality.
  • Collaborate with Operation Supervisors to recover from discrepancies.
  • Communicate changes to partner production teams to adjust automation playlists.

Job Description
  • Support current on-air operations team during the division’s major systems migration in 2026. This support would include, but not limited to, programming quality control, commercial rehearsals, event preparation, shadowing on-air programming, monitoring on-air programming, and break support for other MCO’s.
  • Maintain and manipulate on-air playlists, execute program/commercial/marketing changes, and support live-event and contingency workflows using cutting-edge software like SNELL Morpheus and Amagi.
  • Take ownership of commercial integration, ensuring flawless rolling of commercial breaks during both taped and live programming.
  • Contributing to the team which collectively monitors and maintains 150+ channel streams, ensuring continuous availability and identifying any inconsistencies with keen attention to detail.
  • Guarantee the continuity of programming by meticulously confirming the readiness of every piece of material for on-air playout.
  • Act as the last line of defense for internal clients and stations, swiftly responding to any on-air discrepancies with situational awareness and quick decision-making skills.
  • Protect our airwaves by meticulously simulating the viewer experience, constantly checking for proper audio, video, captioning, and picture quality.
  • Collaborate with Operation Supervisors and work as a cohesive team to promptly recover from any on-air discrepancies.
  • Prompt and clear verbal communication with partner production teams to facilitate and execute requested changes to automation playlists.
  • Perform all other duties to support the success of the Network Operations Center as assigned by manager and follow company rules and policies
Basic Qualifications:
  • A High School Diploma and relevant certification or Associate's Degree in Media or Communications, or equivalent professional experience in broadcast, digital, or post production role.
  • A solid understanding of television production, broadcast operations, and/or news/sports/entertainment technical production requirements.
Additional Job Requirements:
  • Must be willing and available to work any shift including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of a 24x7/365 operation, with possibility of schedule changes based on business needs and priorities.
  • Must be willing and able to view all content including that considered to be mature in nature, repetitive, and potentially controversial
Desired Characteristics:
  • Prior professional experience working in master control or a production control room is highly desirable, but not required.
  • The ability to maintain composure and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to adapt to new and changing workflows and software implementations
  • An acute attention to detail and a knack for cross-referencing and identifying inconsistencies, coupled with the ability to anticipate and report potential issues and concerns proactively.
  • Ability to multi-task and balance numerous priorities in a deadline-oriented environment
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven experience working collaboratively with others, who is always respectful and maintains a positive attitude
  • A punctual, hardworking, disciplined, and dependable individual
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluency or proficiency in Spanish is a definite plus
  • Position will have an end date after six months, but does have the opportunity to migrate into a full-time Master Control Operator role if one is available.

  • Shift timing 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM (MST)
