Job summary

LAUKOA is seeking an experienced Machinist to manage, maintain, and operate the AFCEC Fabrication & Test Support Facility in Florida. You will manufacture complex, non-routine parts and contribute to prototyping, testing, and design modifications using conventional and CNC machine tools. The position requires 7–10 years of machinist experience, proficiency in CNC programming, and strong shop mathematics.

A DoD CAC/NACI clearance and U.S. Person status are required; position contingent on award.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years' experience as a machinist, with design contributions.
• Knowledge of conventional and CNC machine tools; CNC programming and setup.
• Strong shop mathematics including plane geometry and trigonometry.
• Experience with aluminum, brass, bronze, steels; heat-treat effects.
• Ability to improvise tooling and fixtures; use precision measuring instruments.
• NACI; DoD CAC; valid state driver's license; U.S. person only.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture complex, non-routine parts from varied metals using gov't tools.
• Determine tooling, feeds, speeds; consider heat-treating and welding effects.
• Perform shop-floor CNC programming and first article verification.
• Set up and operate high-speed water jet, laser cutter, lathes, and mills.
• Apply algebraic/geom/trig computations for dimensions.
• Use precision measuring instruments to hold tolerances.
• Provide backup in Welder and Sheet Metal Fabricator areas; read blueprints.
