Job summary

The City of Charlotte is seeking a Master Automotive Technician to lead advanced diagnostics and repairs for its municipal fleet. You will diagnose complex powertrains, mentor technicians, and ensure work meets city standards.

This full-time role requires ASE Master certification (A1–A8), five years’ experience, NC inspections license and EPA609, plus a valid NC driver’s license. The position offers a supportive, high-performance environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Five years of relevant vehicle repair experience.
• Must have ASE Automobile & Light Truck Master certification (A1–A8) or obtain within 12 months.
• Must possess NC Inspection license and EPA609 AC Recovery & Recycling License within 6 months.
• Must have a valid North Carolina driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex electronically controlled gasoline and diesel engines and modern electrical systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance per Fleet Management and NCDOT standards.
• Interpret manuals, diagrams, and diagnostic software to complete repairs.
• Mentor and guide junior technicians to maintain high standards.
