Job summary

Mercedes-Benz of Farmington is seeking a Mercedes Master Technician with 5 years of diagnostic experience to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electrical systems. You will communicate repair needs and costs to customers and service advisors, and ensure high-quality workmanship.

The role requires independent work, a full set of tools, and a valid driver’s license. Expect teamwork, ongoing training, and adherence to safety, professionalism, and our core values.

Qualifications

• Mercedes Master Technician with 5 years of experience.
• The ability to work independently with limited supervision and the motivation to continually increase product knowledge should be evident.
• A complete and up-to-date set of tools.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Must possess and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.

Responsibilities

• System Diagnostics: Utilizing computerized tools to troubleshoot engine, electrical, chassis, and transmission systems.
• Repair and Maintenance: Performing complex repairs and routine maintenance based on diagnostic results.
• Technical Analysis: Interpreting diagnostic codes and technical manuals to identify faults.
• Customer Communication: Explaining technical issues, repair needs, and cost estimates to customers and service advisors.
• Quality Control: Road-testing vehicles to ensure repairs meet manufacturer standards.
• Documentation: Keeping accurate records of diagnostics, repairs, and parts used.
• Inform the Shop Foreman of difficulties with repairs and the need for additional repairs.
• Comebacks: limit comebacks to less than two percent as defined by the shop foreman.
• Self-development: attend training seminars, shop meetings, and service schools.
• Team Effort: demonstrate a concern for meeting team/departmental needs through activities such as accepting overtime, following up on needed parts, helping other technicians, and training apprentices.
• Practice safe work habits, follow the company’s safety policies, and use personal protective equipment as required.
• Model professionalism and approach all situations as a representative of the company
