Job summary

Ilderton Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM in High Point, NC is seeking a Stellantis Master Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain Stellantis brand vehicles to factory standards using OEM tools and training. This advanced role demands strong troubleshooting, transmission expertise, and the ability to explain issues clearly to customers.

You will mentor junior technicians, complete documentation, and stay current with manufacturer training.

Qualifications

• Proven automotive technician with advanced Stellantis experience preferred.
• Able to diagnose using OEM diagnostic tools and manuals.
• Experience diagnosing, rebuilding, and repairing automatic and manual transmissions.
• Strong drivetrain knowledge and ability to read technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
• Excellent communication with advisors and customers.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose complex vehicle issues using Stellantis diagnostic tools.
• Repair major systems including engine, transmission, electrical, HVAC, brakes, suspension.
• Disassemble, rebuild, and reassemble transmissions per manufacturer specs.
• Perform transmission overhauls and component replacements.
• Conduct multipoint inspections and document all work performed.
• Test drive and verify repair quality and completeness.
• Explain diagnoses to customers in clear language.
• Maintain certifications and participate in training.
• Mentor junior technicians and keep the shop organized and safe.

Position Overview

The Stellantis Master Technician is an advanced automotive service professional responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Stellantis brand vehicles (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, etc.) to factory standards. This role requires in-depth mechanical and technical expertise, use of OEM diagnostic systems, and a strong focus on customer satisfaction and vehicle quality. Advanced knowledge of drivetrain systems, including transmission diagnostics, teardown, and rebuilding, is essential.

Essential Responsibilities

• Diagnose complex vehicle issues using Stellantis factory diagnostic tools and systems.
• Perform repairs on all major systems including engine, transmission, electrical, drivability, HVAC, brakes/hydraulics, suspension, and advanced fuel/ignition systems.
• Diagnose, disassemble, rebuild, and reassemble automatic and manual transmissions to manufacturer specifications.
• Perform transmission overhauls, component replacement, and internal repairs including clutches, valve bodies, torque converters, and related drivetrain components.
• Execute multipoint inspections and identify all safety or service needs.
• Conduct test drives to verify repair quality and completeness.
• Accurately document all work performed and recommended on repair orders.
• Explain technical diagnoses and repair needs clearly to service advisors and customers, including non-technical individuals.
• Report mechanical issues or safety concerns to shop foreman.
• Participate in ongoing manufacturer sponsored technical training to stay current with new vehicle systems and technologies.
• Maintain required certifications as specified by Stellantis and dealership standards.
• Mentor and assist junior or entry-level technicians as needed.
• Help maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment, complying with OSHA and dealership policies.
• Support customer satisfaction initiatives such as CSI goals by delivering high quality and efficient repairs.
• Ensure vehicles are returned clean and in excellent condition.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an automotive technician, with advanced experience working on Stellantis vehicles strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated diagnostic expertise and strong mechanical aptitude.
• Demonstrated experience diagnosing, rebuilding, and repairing automatic and manual transmissions.
• Strong drivetrain knowledge including internal transmission components and repair procedures.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic read-outs.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly to advisors and customers.
• ASE Master Automotive Technician Certification preferred.
• Stellantis/Mopar Master Technician certification or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass background/drug screening.

Working Conditions
