Job summary

The JW Marriott Nashville Hotel is seeking a part-time Massage Therapist/Nail Technician to deliver spa services, including nail grooming, polish, massage and exfoliation, while adhering to safety and sanitation standards.

You will assess guest contraindications, maintain equipment, stay informed on product ingredients, and provide attentive, professional service to guests throughout treatments, with meetings and trainings as required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cosmetology therapy concepts, techniques, and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic math skills.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with guest, management, and staff.
• Knowledge, understanding, and compliance of policies and procedures, job descriptions, daily memorandums, chemical labels, and other instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform treatments to designed standards on a timely basis and provide superior guest services
• Resolve guest complaints to ensure guest satisfaction
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas
• Cleans and disinfects all equipment on a daily basis
• Maintains the highest level of nail care knowledge for both hands and feet and has complete knowledge of all spa services presently offered. Understands the ingredients in products and can explain their benefits to guests
• Answers guests questions in a knowledgeable and professional manner. Recommends products for home use. Suggests to guests other beneficial treatments offered in the spa
• Attends all scheduled meetings
• Attends scheduled professional trainings. Reports any incidents or accidents to a member of the management team
• Begins and ends all treatments on scheduled time
• Works assigned schedule. Arrives and departs from the spa at scheduled time

Position Summary

The Nail Technician is responsible for performing spa services in the area of nail grooming, polish / gel polish application, massage and exfoliation. Assesses contraindications of guest that may prevent service from taking place. Meets the needs of the guest at all times throughout the service. Understands and uses universal precautions when providing services. Follows all nail treatment protocols and standards.
