Job summary

Lake Austin Spa Resort in Austin, TX is seeking a Licensed Massage Therapist to join our tranquil spa team. You will assess guests’ needs, explain treatment options, and perform customized massage sessions.

A valid Texas license and at least 500 training hours with a year of hands-on experience are required. Excellent customer service, communication, and teamwork are essential to delight our guests and support a welcoming spa environment.

Qualifications

• 500 training hours completed with at least 1 year of licensed, hands-on massage experience.
• Current Texas massage therapy license required.
• Excellent customer service and outstanding communication skills.
• Ability to build guest relationships and promote spa products and services.
• Team player with ability to work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Take notes on each client's medical history and precautions to avoid aggravation.
• Explain massage options and tailor therapies to individual clients.
• Explain massage procedures and oils/creams used.
• Perform massage per client instructions (pressure and oil/cream).
• Talk to clients during treatment to ensure well-being.
• Uphold hygiene and sterilization standards per law and spa policies.

Job description

Licensed Massage Therapist

Lake Austin Spa Resort-Austin, TX

Responsibilities

• Take notes regarding each client’s medical history and ensure that appropriate precautions are taken so that the condition is not aggravated
• Provide clients with knowledge of different types of available massages and suggest appropriate massage therapies for individual clients
• Explain the massage procedure and provide information about oils and creams used during massage
• Perform massaging activities according to each client’s instructions (pressure and preferred oil/cream)
• Talk to clients (minimally) during massage treatments to ensure their well-being during the procedure
• Uphold the standards of hygiene and sterilization as directed by law and the spa’s policies and procedures
• Maintain a constructive attitude and add toward a quality work environment

Qualifications

• Qualified candidates will have at least 500 training hours, including one year of licensed, hands-on experience.
• Current Texas massage therapist license required.
• Excellent customer service skills
• Outstanding communication and listening skills
• Ability to build relationships with guests
