Job summary

Vancouver Wellness Studio is seeking a licensed Massage Therapist in Washington to join a collaborative team of Naturopathic Doctors, Psychotherapists, and other wellness professionals. You will treat varied physical conditions, maintain records, and engage in community marketing to grow your client caseload.

Must be licensed in WA, have 5+ years post-graduation experience, and graduate from an accredited massage therapy school.

Qualifications

  • Licensure compliant with state and local laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Adequate knowledge of massage techniques such as reflexology, sports, Swedish, deep-tissue.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure client needs are met safely using the massage technique suited to their needs.
  • Maintain treatment records, monitor progress, and follow up on treatment plans.
  • Recommend additional products or services that may benefit the client.
  • Evaluate client’s condition to determine most effective massage types.
  • Cultivate welcoming relationships with clients and staff.
  • Provide a variety of massage and spa treatments and maintain attendance.
  • Open/close treatment room and manage turnovers.
  • Coordinate with Wellness Concierge on check-in and payment.
  • Complete SOAP notes within 24 hours.
  • Participate in marketing to build client caseloads (up to 2 hours weekly).
  • Promote VWS treatments and promotions.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality.

Compensation

$48 - $55 hourly

Responsibilities
  • Ensure client needs are met safely using the therapeutic massage technique that corresponds with their needs
  • Maintain treatment records, monitor client progress, and follow up on their treatment plans
  • Recommend additional products or services that may benefit the client
  • Evaluate each client’s physical condition, stress level, and medical history to determine the most effective types of massage for their course of treatment
  • Cultivate a welcoming work environment by making positive relationships with clients and staff
  • Provide a variety of massage and spa treatments to patients/clients
  • Arrive on time for shifts and maintain a consistent, regular attendance record
  • Properly open and close your treatment room each day, and handle room turnovers
  • Communicate with the Wellness Concierge/Front Desk to ensure that the check-in, check-out, and payment process is completed
  • Complete appropriate SOAP note charting and sign all charts within 24 hours
  • Regularly participate in marketing efforts to build and maintain client caseloads. This may include attending professional referral groups, social media contributions, newsletter, website, or blog contributions - Up to 2 hours per week of paid time
  • Actively promote VWS treatments, services, and promotions
  • Maintain professional demeanor, conduct, and hygiene
  • Develop professional & personalized relationships with regular clients and community members
  • Handle patient/client questions and concerns promptly, professionally, and courteously
  • Maintain complete confidentiality in all patient/client matters following the company's HIPAA policy
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Must maintain annual continued education, stay current on industry trends and services, and be willing to complete ongoing education in massage therapy
  • Recommend additional products or services that may benefit the client
  • Use therapeutic massage techniques to deliver a safe and exceptional customer experience that meets their needs and desired results
  • Support a positive working environment for both clients and staff through relationship-building and team development

  • Licensed Massage Therapist in WA State
  • 5 years of massage experience post-graduation minimum
  • Trained in and proficient with a variety of treatment-based and therapeutic massage techniques
  • Have graduated from an accredited Massage Therapy school
  • Have a National Provider Identification (NPI) number
  • Have appropriate professional malpractice insurance
  • Have a High school GED or higher
