Hours: Per Diem

Responsibilities:

1. Demonstrates basic knowledge of the purpose, intent, and function of massage therapy for various client populations.
2. Demonstrates basic knowledge of philosophical, psychological, physiological, and sociological bases for the use of massage therapy.
3. Demonstrates basic knowledge of the use of current technologies in massage therapy assessment, treatment, and evaluation.
4. Provides massage treatments to patients when beneficial.
5. Reviews patient's chart and medical history prior to treatments.
6. Works within scope of practice, considering contraindications, patient limitations, and precautions.
7. Consults with healthcare team regarding contraindications.
8. Creates a conducive physical environment for therapy.
9. Documents all patient visits per policies within 24 hours.
10. Communicates actively within interdisciplinary teams.
11. Coordinates treatment plans and attends team meetings as needed.
12. Safeguards patient information per HIPAA.
13. Respects patient rights to refuse or modify treatment.
14. Maintains equipment and supplies hygienically.
15. Completes ongoing training and participates in quality improvement programs.
16. Maintains knowledge of relevant information systems and software.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited massage therapy program (COMTA).
• 2-4 years of related experience, preferably with hospice experience.
