Job summary

Active Wellness in Los Angeles is seeking a Massage Therapist to provide therapeutic massage to members, guests, and corporate clients and to support the spa's growth via self-promotion.

Qualified candidates have 500 hours of training with CAMTC certification; at least 2 years of experience or completion of a 750-hour program with internship; training in Swedish, deep tissue, or sports massage and related modalities; AED/CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• 500 hours of training from an accredited massage school; CAMTC certified is a plus.
• 2 yrs of work experience or have completed 500 hours of a 750-hour massage program with internship or on-site supervision.
• Training in Swedish, deep tissue, sports massage, Thai Massage, acupressure, cupping, lymphatic massage or related modalities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide massage therapy to members, guests, and corporate clients.

Job description

Pay Transparency: $35 - $50/hour; Minimum rates may vary based on local wage laws. Pay depends on factors including site location, specialty, certifications, work experience, and other business needs.

Role And Responsibilities

The Massage Therapist is responsible for providing members, guests, and corporate clients with therapeutic massage. The Massage Therapist is also responsible for assisting in the growth of The Spa through self-promotion.

Specific Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Provide massage therapy to members, guests, and corporate clients
• Be responsive to our members
• Comply with the Massage Room Shift Guidelines while on site
• Maintain communication with schedulers to ensure attendance
• Self-Promotion – participate in the promotion of the massage department
• Administer emergency care to members and guests in need of assistance
• Work as a TEAM with all other departments
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

Other Functions

• Be knowledgeable about all programs and activities offered by Active Wellness
• Promote club services and activities
• Perform routine maintenance of massage equipment
• Assist with keeping The Spa well stocked and clean
• Attend Active Wellness site meetings and trainings
• Handle injury and illness and security incident reporting

Qualifications

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• 500 hours of training from an accredited massage school. 25 hours of chair massage training is a plus, CAMTC certified.
• 2 yrs of work experience or have completed 500 hours of a 750-hour massage program that offers either an off-site internship program or an on-site supervised clinic.
• Training in one of the following three modalities: Swedish, deep tissue, or sports massage, Thai Massage, acupressure, cupping, Red Light, pre-natal, and lymphatic, etc. a plus.
• Must be detail oriented, organized and highly responsive with a commitment to customer service
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Basic computer skills, customer service skills, results oriented, ability to multitask, and commitment to the fitness industry
• AED/CPR/First Aid Certified
• Proof of citizenship or legal status

Physical and Working Conditions

• Ability to take the responsibility for the health and safety of others
• Ability to stand for several hours in a same shift; ability to lift 25 lbs
• Fitness club environment
• Must follow OSHA and Active Wellness safety standards
