Job summary

Azario Lakewood Ranch in Bradenton, FL is seeking a part-time Massage Therapist to provide a range of modalities including Swedish, deep tissue, and reflexology. You will gather health histories, ensure client safety, and offer wellness guidance while maintaining a high level of service in a hospitality-driven environment.

Current state license and CPR/First Aid are required. The role supports salon operations, including scheduling and client communication, with eligibility for healthcare

Qualifications

• Certificate from a college, technical school, or accredited facility; and 3–6 months of related experience or training.
• Current state massage therapist license and CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Ability to read and speak English to communicate with customers and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Greets visitors to the salon and manages appointments.
• Evaluates clients' health history and contraindications.
• Performs Swedish, deep tissue, sports, therapeutic, reflexology, and Shiatsu massages.
• Explains massage techniques and post-care guidance.
• Maintains professional demeanor and safe work practices.
• Maintains regular attendance and assists with receptionist duties as needed.

General Purpose:

Performs massage therapy on clients utilizing various modalities and assures the enjoyment and satisfaction of salon patrons.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greets visitors to the salon in a prompt, courteous manner


• Administers clients' health history and release forms to all new clients


• Evaluates clients' health history by asking pertinent questions to identify any contraindications


• Discusses clients' needs, expectations, and past experience with massage prior to performing the service


• Performs various types of massages on clients utilizing different modalities, including but not limited to: Swedish, deep tissue, sports, therapeutic, reflexology, and Shiatsu


• Provides an educated explanation of massage techniques used


• Offers suggestions for overall health and general wellbeing after the massage (e.g., stretches, yoga, or referral to a physician), while noting that a massage therapist cannot prescribe or diagnose a client's condition


• Operates the salon computer accurately and properly books all appointments for all salon staff when scheduled and during the absence of the receptionist


• Answers incoming phone calls promptly and in a polite, courteous manner when scheduled and during the absence of the receptionist


• Maintains a professional, service-oriented demeanor


• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance


• Maintains regular and reliable attendance


• Performs other duties as required

Education and Experience:

Certificate from a college, technical school, or accredited facility; and three to six months of related experience and/or training.

Certificates/Licenses:

Current state massage therapist license and other applicable certifications; CPR and First Aid certification required.

Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g., the associate may be required to communicate with English-speaking customers or co-workers; equipment manuals may be in English).

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

• Frequently uses hands, reaches with hands and arms, talks, hears, stands, and walks


• Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, crawls, tastes, or smells


• Occasionally lifts up to 25 pounds


• Occasionally works in hot, wet, or humid conditions (non-weather)


• Noise level is moderate
