Job summary

Office of the Inspector General in Massachusetts seeks a Justice Geraldine S. Hines Legal Fellow to begin a career in public service.

The Fellow will conduct legal research, draft memoranda, and assist with investigations, audits, and policy issues under the supervision of the General Counsel. The two-year fellowship is designed to develop core legal skills in fraud, waste, and abuse matters, with training, mentoring, and exposure to state and municipal government operations.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited law school with eligibility to take the Massachusetts Bar by July 2027.
• Strong legal research and writing skills for drafting memoranda and documents.
• Experience or interest in public service, ethics, and procurement law is valued.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda related to fraud, waste and abuse in public funds.
• Assist with investigations, audits or reviews as needed by the Office of the General Counsel.
• Provide guidance on state and federal law, including employment, contract and procurement matters.
