UC Irvine's Mass Spectrometry Facility seeks an entry-level staff research associate to assist faculty and senior staff with analytical research in a dynamic, collaborative environment. You will handle LC-MS, GC-MS, and MALDI-MS workflows, maintain records, prepare materials, and support ongoing projects across multiple instruments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related scientific field with research or lab experience.
• Knowledge of and adherence to laboratory safety procedures.
• Strong organizational and teamwork capabilities.
• Ability to follow detailed technical protocols.
• Accurate data management and recordkeeping.
• Ability to work independently on routine assignments.

Responsabilités

• Assist with laboratory experiments, method development, and studies under supervision.
• Perform routine LC-MS, GC-MS, MALDI-MS procedures according to established protocols.
• Prepare reagents, samples, cultures, and other research materials for experiments.
• Collect, record, organize, and maintain experimental data and observations.
• Maintain accurate lab notebooks and research records; manage databases.
• Perform data validation, including analyte identification and small-molecule validation.
• Assist with literature searches and other research information gathering.
