Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist Trainee to join our Mass Spec team located in Burlington, NC. The role includes hands-on training and exposure to state-of-the-art instrumentation to support routine and complex testing workflows.

New grads are welcomed with full training provided. The schedule is Tuesday–Saturday, 3:00pm–11:30pm. A Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science is required, with ASCP/AMT certification preferred; strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results for patient care
• Perform preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE
